Academy Director
Darrian Link is the Academy Director of Elite Zebras Training Academy and a dedicated hockey official with a strong commitment to developing the next generation of referees. With seven years of experience as a Hockey Alberta official and six years working with Silent Ice Sports & Entertainment, Darrian has built a well-rounded and respected presence within the officiating community.
Throughout his career, Darrian has officiated at the Junior B level and below, earning assignments at high-profile events such as the Brick Hockey Tournament and the War of the Roses Tournament since 2021. He has also worked numerous championship games and has been selected to officiate at Hockey Alberta Provincial Championships, demonstrating both consistency and trust in high-pressure environments.
In addition to his on-ice experience, Darrian serves as a Hockey Super League representative and supervisor, where he plays a key role in mentoring and evaluating officials. His leadership experience extends beyond officiating, having spent four years as an assistant coach and two years as an athletic trainer with the WolfPack AAA Spring Hockey program. This diverse experience gives him a well-rounded perspective on game management, communication, and performance.
Founded in 2026, Elite Zebras Training Academy reflects Darrian’s commitment to advancing the standard of officiating. The academy focuses on developing the next generation of officials through advanced techniques, modern teaching methods, and the integration of new technologies to enhance learning and performance.
Darrian is passionate about creating confident, capable officials and strongly believes that anyone willing to put in the work, maintain confidence, and hold themselves to high standards has the potential to become an exceptional official.
